Webcams
We highly recommend using a separate webcam and not using your laptop's built-in webcam.
Our Favorites
- Logitech Brio ($125-$200) - Highest image quality without using a DSLR/mirrorless. Wide 90° view, 60 fps, HDR, 4K.
- Logitech StreamCam ($140-$150) - Unique form factor is ideal for handholding. 60 fps (MJPEG only).
- Note: Auto-exposure seemed overly sensitive
- Logitech C922 ($80-$110) - Slightly sharper and better colors than C920. Supports 60 fps (720p only).
- Logitech C920 ($70) - Good quality except in low light.
Other Webcams (untested by us but good reviews)
- Razer Kiyo Pro ($100-$130) - HDR (high dynamic range) support. 60 fps (not with HDR enabled).
- Razer Kiyo ($70-$100) - Some reviews prefer this to similar priced C920.
- Logitech C930e ($75-$130) - Essentially a C920 with a wider 90-degree field of view (same as Brio) and better built-in microphone.
- Logitech C925e ($70-$100) - Business version of C920
- Logitech BCC950 ($185-$299) - Large conference pan & tilt webcam with remote.

Video Cameras
Modern webcams are excellent and models no longer need to connect a traditional video camera to get a good video stream.
Lighting
The most important part of looking good on camera, and having a good quality picture with vibrant colors, is actually not the type of webcam you use but the Lighting.
